Can you find a better place to be in a snowstorm?

They had a beautiful fireplace in the living room, and we knew that even if the power went off and the furnace wouldn’t work, we would still have heat

Either we hadn’t listened to the weather report very well, or they didn’t see the storm coming, but we had a wild snowstorm go through our area two nights ago. My husband and I had been visiting our daughter, who lived about 20 miles away from us. We enjoy going over there as often as possible so that we can see our daughter and granddaughters. They were the light of our lives. When it first began snowing, my daughter told us that maybe we should start thinking about going home since we had a mountain to go down off of and then to climb again. Neither my husband nor I enjoy driving in the snow. Regardless of her caution, we stayed for a while longer and had some game time in front of the fireplace with our family. When we were getting ready to leave, we realized our car had about 6 inches of snow on it. We knew there was no way we were going to get down off her hill and get back up to the top of the mountain that we lived on. She told us she could throw the girls in the one room and we could have the other bedroom if we spent the night. They had a beautiful fireplace in the living room, and we knew that even if the power went off and the furnace wouldn’t work, we would still have heat. My husband and I weren’t really excited about spending the night, but when we started watching outside and seeing the whiteout conditions, we couldn’t think of any better place to be in a snowstorm.
