Every time you open your news app these days, you’re going to see the same story over and over again. There will be some new rulings handed down by the government, some new findings being tracked by scientists in the healthcare industry, and some new story of a national food or supply outage. The whole toilet paper shortage thing has been absolutely ridiculous, in my opinion. Now, grocery stores have been facing similar shortages for food including meats, cereals, and necessary staples. I understand that people are trying to prepare, and everyone is going a little bit nuts right now. However, we really need to work together so everyone can get the supplies they need. For instance, yesterday when I attempted to go to the hardware store for a piece of equipment necessary to maintain my heating and cooling plan, I could not find this single item. No matter where I looked, air filters were completely sold out. Last week I started noticing that the indoor air was a bit musty and stale. This week, after spending the entire time in my house, I noticed that the indoor air is absolutely suffering. Every time air blows from my vents, it seems dirty and smelly. It doesn’t feel like it’s getting as cool as it should, and I’m worried about the safety of my AC unit. I checked my air filter, and sure enough the thing was absolutely disgusting. However, when I tried to replace the air filter, I found that every store was out of stock. Apparently, everyone has been noticing their poor indoor air quality this week. I’m glad that people are taking measures to improve their respiratory health and HVAC efficiency, but I need an air filter too.
