Farmhouse leaky ducts

My husband and I are currently in the process of renovating a small farm house.

Fortunately, the farm house was gifted to us through a family member, and we were more than ready to make it our own.

We knew that we would need to put a lot of sweat and blood into the farmhouse to bring it back to life. But we were ready! We intended to paint the walls, polish the hardwood floors, and update some of the fixtures. However, what we weren’t expecting was a complete overhaul of the HVAC system. On our first full night at the farm house, we observed how freezing cold it got inside. No matter how many layers we put on, it felt like we were outside in the freezing snow and ice. My husband tried raising the temperature on the temperature control, but it didn’t heat the house evenly. The old furnace would run for ten minutes, then stop running for thirty minutes, and it completed this cycle all night long. After struggling to stay warm all night long, we took action the following morning. My husband and I spoke to an HVAC service specialist about updating the HVAC system completely. We were in need of something that would distribute heat evenly but efficiently. While the HVAC service specialist helped us select a newer model, he also recommended that we have sealed all the doors and windows. Since the house was older, a lot of the heat was escaping. Neither of us had thought about that! Thankfully, with the HVAC overhaul in addition to sealing the cracks, we are able to heat our new farmhouse much better..
