I’m so cheerful that my fiance finally listened to reason.
It was getting to the point where he was being so pigheaded about keeping the cottage just the way his Mom left it that he was the only 1.
I mean, we all get the fact that this place is special to him. But adding some residential HVAC would entirely not besmirch the memory of Mom at all. In fact, my brother in law & I were in agreement in that. She & my fiance inherited the property so it was just as much hers as it was his. I know she’s the 1 who finally got through to that man. The fact was that neither of our families or the rest of the extended family were using the cottage. It’s so appealing out there but the cottage was a musty, cluttered & outdated place where nobody wanted to spend a night. Finally, we got through to my fiance & commanded that we just start by cleaning it up, getting rid of furniture that was broken or unUSAble. When that went well, we painted & put in better beds & furnishings. The improvements made an obvious difference with my fiance because it wasn’t long before he was talking about HVAC equipment. We met with a local HVAC contractor in town first. They showed us the ductless heat pump. I was stunned by just how powerful this form of HVAC plan could be. The HVAC contractor put in 4 ductless heat pumps throughout the cottage. This has made such a tremendous difference in comfort just having some air conditioner in the summer.
