My stepdad gave me an article on the importance of drumming in our lives. There is something about the rhythmic sound that drums make and how it affects our soul. Maybe this is why I like drumming in the first place and maybe this is why I should hold it dear to me and keep doing it till my hands can drum no more. There is something deep and profound about music and I’ve always envied those who do it for a living. They seem to be so engrossed in it and it seems to carry their lives. My HVAC specialist told me that he thinks music is the best expression for our soul and that if you get the chance to do it you should pursue it for your whole life. We worked on an HVAC system one day and what he said to me as I was programming the smart thermostat stuck with me and made me shift from comedy to music. I was doing standup comedy for 15 years but felt like it wasn’t who I really was and that I could express myself better with music. I now play in local businesses when I am not working on radiant heated floors or selling a HEPA filter to a customer. I think that music could be a great outlet for me in my later years too and that I should keep on trying to improve in it. The cooling supplier in my town told us that they want us to play in their air conditioned store this coming summer.
