I was on the market for some kind of heat source in the beach house that I bought. At first I wanted a geothermal heat pump for the beach house. My mind was dead set on this because of all the charming things I had read about geothermal heat pumps. I liked how they saved on energy use, and how they heated the house evenly. However, when I discovered the price of the installation of geothermal heat pumps, my mind was instantly changed. The cost to install a geothermal heat pump was way out of my budget, and although I’d have been able to eventually let the geothermal heat pump pay itself off with all the energy usage, I just didn’t have the finances to pay for the geothermal heat pump up front. I ended up having to install a basic central heating & air conditioning system instead, which was still pretty nice. However, I suppose I will not be saving as much money on energy use this way, but I did end up getting a smart temperature control though. The smart temperature control was able to save me a little on my utility bills by not having the central heating & air conditioning running at all hours of the day. At least I could get a little bit of savings for the heating & air conditioning that way. I’ll always regret not having the money to install a geothermal heat pump.
