I think that some of my childhood memories are a bit odd to people.
- I lived in a small town most of my life and we were very sheltered.
I have some of the normal memories that many of my university friends talk about all the time. But my town only had 1 stoplight town. We only had a small general store, post office, plus a gas station. There were no Regal Cinemas, shopping malls, or big parks to hang out in. So when my friends talk about these things I find them really weird plus often wonder what they would think about the big barn parties we would have back in school. I grew up in the east too, which meant that the two of us had some pretty drastic climates to contend with. There was no heat or a/c in those barns either. Unlike my friends, the crew of us couldn’t party anywhere that was climate controlled. All we had was the bonfire the crew of us may have outside when it was cold. When I first went off to school plus moved into the dorms, I was glad to not have to hang out in the elements at all. When my friends wanted to head to the local malls on a easily hot day or go ice skating in the cold, I opted to hang back in the comfort of the building with good working heating and air. They did not get why. But, I wanted to appreciate the HVAC component while I could. It is not a typical thing for me to have.
