I love it in the spring when I can quit using both heating and cooling systems

We had a long and agonizing winter season this past year.

The first snowfall came during the first week of November and then we were faced with freezing temperatures moving forward with no breaks until the beginning of March.

There were power outages in many areas after an ice storm wrecked a nearby power grid. Some people were without heat for long periods of time and many even dealt with frozen and burst water pipes due to their homes losing power and their heat sources as well. That’s a huge reason why I insist on using two heating sources in the event of a loss of power to run my primary heating system, which is electric. Even gas heating systems often need electricity to get going, especially if one is fan-forced and needs electricity for the fan motor itself. My favorite part of the year has got to be the spring season. Aside from the return of green colors in plant life and vegetation, I also welcome the milder temperatures and the break from using the heating and cooling system in my home. There is a special transition period during the spring where it’s warm enough to turn off the heat, but also cool enough where it isn’t time yet for the air conditioner. My energy bills are the lowest for the entire year during the spring season. I wish spring would last longer, but it feels like it’s getting cut shorter every single year. Inevitably, the winters and summers each get longer. The winter takes longer to end while the summer decides to start earlier than before.
