If There Are Holiday Candles, Get a Case of Air Filters

But, guess where all that burned up wax ends up? It ends up trying to kill the HVAC system.

Growing up in a home where the holidays were just so overdone, I have tended to be less of a holiday guy. I enjoy the vibe of the holidays. It’s all the extra work that I am not so fond of. When I was a kid, I had to tote all the Thanksgiving and Christmas junk from the attic. My mother would crank the HVAC heating up to near tropical temps. Then I had to be my Mom’s decorator drone for far too many weekends of the holiday period. It was really the worst. However, I have gotten a bit softer around the edges now that our girls are so into the Thanksgiving and Christmas. My wife, God bless her, dialed back all the holiday schmaltz because she knew it annoyed me. But, when our girls got to the age where they understood what the holidays were, my wife started to really get to decorating. Her big thing is candles. She taught the girls from the start to be very careful with candles. They actually totally got the concept so, my wife started putting out more and more candles. Our home is so beautiful and cozy with all those candles going. But, guess where all that burned up wax ends up? It ends up trying to kill the HVAC system. The burned wax ends up coating the air filter for my HVAC system. This requires me to get at least a case of air filters for the holidays alone. I have to change that air filter at least once every ten days with all that wax building up.
