I met this guy, Jon, at a party and we really hit it off, during that night at the party, most of our concentration was with each other, however he had just moved here from up north and he was an Heating and Air Conditioning technician, and both of us talked to other people during the party, but still stuck together.
During the end of the night we exchanged cell phone numbers.
We went on a few dates and had a great time and after a couple of weeks, we decided to go to another party together. There we met a fellow Heating and Air Conditioning worker from somewhere else up north and they started talking shop. That’s when I realized how little I knew about Heating and Air Conditioning technology.I had almost constantly lived in a tropical area and our air conditioner usually came from a self contained component on the side of the home that had a heating coil to give what little heat we needed over our mild winters. I didn’t even know what a furnace was! Or a steam radiator! And Heating and Air Conditioning technology has become so advanced. There are smart thermostats and smart Heating and Air Conditioning systems and whole home air purification systems with UV lights. I felt like an idiot sitting there unable to contribute anything to the Heating and Air Conditioning conversation. I decided that as soon as I got the chance, I would do some research on Heating and Air Conditioning technology so that doesn’t happen again. It took me a little while before I could contribute to the Heating and Air Conditioning shop talk. I didn’t realize that there was so much to learn to become a certified Heating and Air Conditioning technician. It takes a measure of intelligence to do that type of work. I may never be able to completely talk HVAC shop, but now I can ask the right questions.
