It’s all about the energy savings

There was a time when a friend of mine decided to give me some energy saving tips.

One of the best energy saving tips I learned from him was to change your light bulbs seasonally. Seriously, just by changing your light bulbs, you can save a great deal of money on your energy bills. In the winter months, you should change your light bulbs to incandescent ones. This will allow plenty of heat to emit from the lights and will help to keep your home warm. In the summer season though, you want to use the lowest heat emitting lights. Probably the most energy efficient and lowest heat emitting are the LED light bulbs. You could also use compact fluorescents which don’t emit too much heat and are energy efficient, however they are dangerous when they break. They contain certain vapors that are quite unsafe to breathe. If you do have these bulbs and end up breaking one, make sure to ventilate the entire area for at least 20 minutes and don’t breathe air in the room immediately around the broken light bulb. This is why I recommend that you use LED light bulbs because they are perfectly safe and don’t overheat your home when you are using your cooling system. I’ve heard a few other energy saving tips like adjusting your temperature by a few degrees, but nothing is as fantastic as changing out the light bulbs. I have saved a good amount of money by using this energy saving tip alone. Another smart move though is to invest in a smart thermostat. Those things save you a large amount of money!
