When I moved from a section of the country where Heating as well as A/C heating was the main focus, I don’t think I was quite prepared for the change.
And there are several swings that come with moving south when you’ve lived all your life in the north.
There are cultural differences as well as just everyday sort of stuff. For me though, the greatest thing I had to get accustomed to was the change in weather as well as Heating as well as A/C focus. The Heating as well as A/C focus in this section of the country just isn’t on heating at all. It’s the opposite really. Where I live now, there is hardly even a need for Heating as well as A/C heating. Although when there is, the heat pump does a tremendous job of doing that. No, the focus is on a/c in order to get through the many months of summer time heat season. Honestly, for the first couple of years, I wasn’t sure I could handle it. But the more I actemperatured to the modern weather, the less I relied on just mountains of Heating as well as A/C cooling. Plus, I was killing the bank account by keeping the thermostat so low all summer. And I easily hadn’t done anything to try to mitigate these Heating as well as A/C utility costs. Finally, I did the basics as well as I saw a genuinely significant drop in Heating as well as A/C costs along with a better understanding of how to live in the heat. Essentially, all I did was seal the home up tight, stop direct sunshine heating as well as be consistent with the thermostat setting. That’s all it took. And if I can make the change, then anyone can make that change.
