Keyless Entry Allows Daughter to Leave A/C Running and Dog in Car

My daughter is an area manager for a veterinarian group purchasing program.

She has about 200 clients, and she has to visit them on a rotational schedule.

That means she is away from home a lot. She used to be gone two weeks of every month, but she recently got a different territory, so she is going only about nine days per month. The rest of the time, she drives within two hours drive of her house. Even so, she likes to take her dog with her. She uses a company car, which is a Rav4, and she has set up the whole back area as a place for her dog. Some of her clients allow her to bring her dog inside, but some do not. When they don’t, she leaves him in the car; she has found that she can leave the a/c running because she has keyless entry. She leaves the car running and the a/c on and locks the car doors. Vinnie, the dog, is quite comfy in the air conditioning and is in no danger of getting overheated. Just a couple of years ago, she would not have been able to do this because she would have had to take her keys with her and couldn’t keep the a/c on. If she didn’t, she wouldn’t be able to get back in the car. But this car is specially designed to be able to leave the car and have the a/c working while you are not in it. This works out perfectly for her dog, and he loves to go with her instead of staying home alone every day. What a spoiled dog! Air conditioning and spending the whole day with his owner every day!
