A few days ago, my wife & I decided to invest in a new house, and the main reason why all of us chose to do this was to have our mother stay with us; She is getting up there in her years, & I don’t absolutely trust a nursing cabin to take care of her, i have heard horror stories about those nursing homes, & I don’t want her to have to suffer in her final years.
Because of this all of us bought a new home that has an in-law suite with it’s own kitchen & everything. There is also Heating & A/C zone control so she can turn up the heating plan as much as she wants without affecting our part of the household. There is also a really nice fireplace in the study room area. Despite the fact that my mother enjoys her own part of the house, she prefers resting in front of the fireplace in her rocking chair while she knits. She enjoys knitting all kinds of things like socks, sweaters, & scarves. She has made our wife & I all kinds of things like that during the time that she rests in front of the fireplace, but periodically I will just relax there with her & just talk about things while listening to the crackling noise of the fireplace. I really can’t blame her for loving that spot so much because it really is comfortable & relaxing. Periodically our mother will make us all some delicious warm cocoa as well. She makes it better than anybody else, & I like it when she does that; A good chunk of the time, our wife, our mom & I will all just be good in front of the fireplace sipping on that good warm cocoa.
