My condensate pan has a sensor to turn off the air conditioning unit if it clogs & overflows

I prefer it when new machines come with features that go far beyond what came before.

Take these blindspot sensors in newer cars that will beep when a car or objects gets close to a single of the more than three corners of your vehicle.

It makes backing up even easier, despite the implementation of the reverse camera as well. It has never been easier to safely drive a automobile without accidentally hitting a young child or small creature. However, you definitely don’t want to be overly reliant on these features as well. I think some who will only use their backup camera which isn’t wonderful if people are coming from the sides at a running pace or on a bicycle. You might not see the guy enter the field of view on the camera until the absolute last minute. That’s why I prefer having the blindspot sensors to use in tandem with the reverse camera, however it’s wonderful to do a manual check when you back up in a car. I suppose the same about my overflow sensor in my HVAC system’s condensate pan. If you fail to keep the condensate line cleaned once a year, you can risk getting a clog & having the air conditioning unit backflow into your air handler. My step father’s house was damaged & given mold problems years ago when his air conditioning unit’s condensate line leaked. With these overflow sensors on newer machines, the openings of that happening are slim. But just prefer you would with backing up a car, you don’t want to over-rely on these technological features & still clean your condensate line even if you recognize it’s draining fine. That could change in a matter of mornings if a small clog is starting to form already.
