It was funny the other day, my friend was so excited and wanted me to come over to see what he recently had installed in his home.
When I got there to see what the big deal was, he was showing me his new programmable thermostat. Now this was a guy that used to have the old dial thermostat that couldn’t even be programmed. Now he was so thrilled with this thermostat that was certainly fancy for its time, but now it was a bit outdated. He was really pleased about it, but then I told him about my smart thermostat. When I told him that I could control my thermostat with my smartphone, he was in total disbelief. He couldn’t even believe that the smart thermostat was able to program itself based on my preferred settings. I probably shouldn’t have said anything and just let him enjoy his programmable thermostat. Now he was a little bit frustrated. He said that it would be better to program the thermostat a certain way, but it was admittedly a hassle to program the thing. When he had everything programmed on his thermostat the way he liked it, I let him come over to see my smart thermostat. He was really impressed that it showed the indoor and outdoor temperatures, the indoor humidity levels, and it was easily controlled with the smart app on my phone. He said that one of these days he would like to get a smart thermostat, but in the meantime he was just going to enjoy his programmable thermostat.
