Reviving the VCR

My husband recently saw a movie that he wanted to record. He couldn’t get the computer to record the movie, so he decided to set up the ancient VCR recording. For those of you who are too young to know what VCR is, it is a large tape that works like a DVD, but it needs rewound. After twenty minutes, he was so heated up over the VCR recording that he came out into the living room in a huff and he turned the thermostat down. He said it was too hot back in the computer. When our house was built, I think they forgot about the small room because it didn’t have a thermostat in it. When we went investigating to see another room thermostat was attached to that room, we found out it was the living room. Whenever it gets warm back there, we need to adjust the thermostat that is at the opposite end of the house, to get more heating or air conditioning. This is kind of odd, because the sun shines directly into the spare room which creates a lot of solar heating. It gets hot quickly back there, Most of the time, the heating and air conditioning doesn’t even reach back there. The living is overheated or cold, by the time we get the thermostat set to where the spare room, which is now the computer room, is comfortable. He still doesn’t have the VCR working and the movie is almost over. I”ve got a feeling he is going to continue working and until he gets the VCR working, the living room will be a frozen tundra, and he will have missed the movie. At least I’ll be able to turn the thermostat back up.
