Saving money with building automation

When you install a building automation system into a commercial building, you are able to greatly reduce overhead costs.

A building automation system is a time saving way of managing building equipment and systems.

Temperature control is one of the biggest expenses in a building considering the HVAC uses nearly 50% of the energy use. You are able to automate the heating and cooling system so that it turns on at the perfect time so that employees and customers have ultimate comfort when they arrive. Thusly, the building automation system will shut the HVAC system down when the building is empty, effectively saving energy and money on the energy bills. If something were to happen where there is a huge temperature change the BAS will automatically alert me through text messaging which helps with faster troubleshooting. We have it set up so we can have remote diagnosis of the situation and we can hopefully avoid disruption of service and the cost of repairs. The BAS also controls the lighting. We have the lights programmed so that they are automatically turned off when no one is in a room. With the addition of occupancy sensors, lights turn on when someone enters a room and they shut off within seconds after they leave. The other inclusions in our BAS are the air quality accessories such as humidifiers and dehumidifiers, and air cleaners. This all helps in creating a more comfortable work space and our employees are working harder because of it. With the help of my smartphone, I can monitor the operation of my automation system even without being in the building.
