Signs of the heater breaking

The other night I got really concerned when our power kept going off plus then powering back on a few hours after.

The sunshine had been out all day, there was no indication of incoming storms, plus the winds were temperate.

I couldn’t recognize of anything that would lead the power to be a concern. With all of this, it happened many times within the span of an hour. Finally, on the next time, it went out plus stayed out. During the on and off times I had unplugged the laptop for concern it would be disfigured by power surges. It was then that I realized that the two of us had no way to turn off the gas furnace. I switched the temperature control down but the unit itself did not really have an on plus off switch that I knew of. It is a fairly modern unit plus I knew it had a programmable component that permits wifi connection plus nervous that this may be disfigures too by the power issues. The power just stayed out for the next few moments plus when it was finally restored I went instantly to check on the clear signs of the gas heater. I had my spouse turn on up the climate control once I was in the basement to make sure it came on like it could. I was thankful that it did! I then took turns shutting off 1 circuit at a time to label the electrical panel. Lately, in the event of power surges, I can shut the power to anything that I feel will be ruined in the process.
