I am far from an uber tech person.
It may have something to do with our age.
But I’m guessing not. My 69 year outdated father in law has every new tech gimmick ever. As soon as something comes on the market, he is whipping out the plastic to get it. I’m a bit slower to moderate to new tech. My cell iphone had actual buttons on it for something love 10 or 15 years. The smart iphone was definitely a good purchase but, I waited until I really needed it. That is why I recognize pretty good about our latest purchase. Again, it took me a while to moderate to the plan of having our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C managed by anyone else but me. I read the articles online about how good the smart thermostats were. My neighbors raved about them. My father in law fell in love with the smart thermostat harder than he did our mother in law by all accounts. However, it was the utility savings that entirely intrigued me. So, I took the plunge plus had a smart thermostat installed last month. The Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C tech who put it in recommended I let the thermostat learn our patterns instead of programming it. I did what the Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C guy said plus I was amazed with the results. After only one month, the smart thermostat saved me nearly 12 percent on our Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C energy use. While that is on the high end of the savings, I was still completely amazed. And I did nothing but add the smart thermostat. The results have really encouraged me to get even more proactive toward Heating, Ventilation, plus A/C energy savings.
