That air filter is filthy

I was anticipating our next utility bill the following week, because I wanted to see how much of a difference it made in the price

I got our heater and ac bill in the mail last month, & I was in awe, and for some reason, this bill was almost twice what it normally is. I’m no heating & air expert, however I knew that something was not right with it. Either the utility person was decreasing their prices, or I was doing something wrong. I tried our best to think about what I could’ve done differently, however nothing came to my head. The dealer would have genuinely upped their prices, however I knew it wouldn’t have created that large of a difference in one week. I also never got any indications that this would happen either. Before paying the invoice, I called the number on the bill to find out what was going on. The utility dealer told me they didn’t alter anything, however it was normal to experience an alteration in price during the Spring due to the allergies & change of seasons. They commanded I start with replacing our cooling filters to see how much that helped our Heating, Ventilation, & A/C bill. When I swapped them, I noticed the a/c filters I was using were super dusty & gross. Almost instantly after, I could notice a change in the way our AC was performing. It was cooler & much nicer to breathe in the house. I was anticipating our next utility bill the following week, because I wanted to see how much of a difference it made in the price. I think that was the issue I was experiencing.
