I made a huge mistake with my HVAC system this year.
I forgot that my service contract would end and I failed to take care of my AC unit.
We had a crazy winter and I didn’t pay any attention to the HVAC system. We have a fireplace in the house which we use as our heater to save money, so the AC unit seriously just went to the wayside as the snow fell down. Well, now it is spring and my AC unit is completely dead! I looked into the machine and saw that the coils of the AC unit are rusted and there’s really no hope for them. I forgot how important it is to properly care for an HVAC system, it’s not as easy as it sounds. I called an HVAC technician and described my problem to him. He told me that most likely I am having issues with the electrical connections inside of the AC unit. He said that he would come out to look but that many people were having similar HVAC issues so he was betting on that being the problem. Next he told me that he was out of the HVAC parts required to fix the issues and said he could order them or install a new AC unit. I thought it was crazy to install an entirely new AC unit until he started talking about the benefits of something like a ductless mini split system. After talking to the HVAC technician for about an hour on the phone I was sold. The next week he came out to install the new ductless mini split AC unit, and I couldn’t be happier!
