The new air conditioning system for our home is taking a little getting used to

That didn’t stop me from making sure I was in a house with top-of-the-line A/C running! However, I quickly found that there was not as much of a need for top-quality air conditioning in this region.

You know, I’m all for an ice-cold air conditioning system. When the summer heat is at its worst, I prefer my air conditioning unit to be functioning at its best! Of course, that’s also because I’m used to having an underperforming A/C system in my home. When I was growing up in the deep south, an ice-cold air conditioning system for the entire home was a must-have. There was no getting around it, not unless you wanted to pour sweat into all of your clothes and sheets as you slept! So, I was definitely in for a surprise when I moved just a few hours northwest. Instead of living so close to the coast where humidity and heat were at its highest, I was now living in a place that was a bit more mild and not so humid. As a result, the summer heat was not as bad as what I grew up with. That didn’t stop me from making sure I was in a house with top-of-the-line A/C running! However, I quickly found that there was not as much of a need for top-quality air conditioning in this region. In fact, within a week of living in this new place, I found that my air conditioning system ran colder than I preferred. I never thought I would admit to it, but the air quality in my house was actually suffering from being too cold! I knew I was in unfamiliar territory when I went to sleep with the A/C set to sixty-eight degrees. I woke up in the middle of the night with a runny nose and a cough. Yes, I actually gave myself a cold! So I guess that answers the question of whether too much A/C is a good thing.
