Sometimes I really do get freaked out about the technological developments that have been happening in our society for several decades now.
I think that we are advancing technology way faster than we can begin to understand it. The closer we get to developing artificial intelligence, the more paranoid and nervous I get about the idea. If you’re anything like me, you are starting to believe that there are too many smart devices already in use on this planet. Personally, I wish that I had less smart gadgets in my life. Namely, this smart thermostat absolutely drives me insane. I do not think that this smart air temperature control device is actually as intelligent as people chalk it up to be. Supposedly, the thermostat is supposed to easily regulate your indoor air temperature control system by detecting when people are present in the house and requiring indoor air quality control. It is supposed to create a more energy efficient household with lower energy bills every month. You are also supposed to be extremely excited about the option to change your indoor air temperature and air quality with the click of a button on your cell phone. However, I can’t say that any of his heating, cooling, and air quality control measures actually work the way they’re supposed to. In fact, my smart thermostat seems like it has a life of its own. The other day, it clearly decided that it was tired of the long and brutally cold winter season… I only found out when I realized that my stupid thermostat had changed our temperature control plan to the summer settings. No wonder the air conditioner was suddenly running.
