Wanting to try a washable filter

I live in a location where the pollen levels get so horrible and bad.

No matter who you are, you can’t escape the thick fluffy film of pollen that covers everything in sight here, then because of this, I have to clean out our air filters frequently in the spring.

It only takes a short amount of time for our cooling filter to get covered in dust from the outside. I’m just thankful for cooling filters that keep that congestion out of our house! My father and brother are both absolutely fantastic at reminding myself and others to check our cooling filter and helping myself and others upgrade it every 4 weeks. If it weren’t for them, our energy bills would go way up and I would’ve ruined our Heating, Ventilation and A/C system a long time ago, but recently, my brother said he switched to a washable kind of HVAC filter. He was trying to be more green and friendly to the environment and save a little money in the long run. When I asked him about it, he told myself and others that a washable kind of heating and air conditioning filter was the same as disposable one, except it could be washed and used for a long time before disposing of it. It cost him more in the beginning, but he’d save a little money in total. He’s only been using the washable air filter for a couple of weeks, but hasn’t had any problems with it.
