We had no consistent airflow in the air duct.

I could hear a sucking noise coming from the air duct.

There was really little heat coming out of the air vents, as I knew it was because of the lack of airflow.

I knew little about HVAC, but I knew what happened when there was no airflow! Either the air filters were plugged, or the air duct was plugged. Either way, it puts a lot of strain on the furnace, as well as it could cause the heat exchanger to crack as well as emit deadly gasses inside! When my partner bought a gas furnace, I wanted to do some research. I had consistently had electric heat, or oil heat. I wasn’t proper with gas heat. I knew that carbon monoxide as well as formaldehyde could be caused by many things, however the gas furnace was infamous for it when the heat exchanger cracked. It meant you needed an up-to-date furnace or risked death in your home. I called the HVAC supplier as well as told them we had an airflow problem. I checked the air filter, as well as changed it, but I still had no airflow. I was afraid there was a blockage in the air duct. The HVAC serviceman showed up the following day as well as confirmed my suspicions. He ordered an air duct cleaning crew to come out the next day, as well as then he checked the furnace. He said everything looked good, although he wanted to check the furnace again, once the air duct was clean as well as the air flow was restored. He seemed certain there was no detriment to the heat exchanger, although he wanted to be sure there was nothing else affected by the lack of airflow.
