We sang Christmas carols around the fire pit.

I was upset about needing to leave the warmth of the fireplace, and so did my sister

Every year, my family goes Christmas caroling. This year, Christmas caroling was like none other than we had ever enjoyed. We had a horrible ice storm and everyone was freezing. We couldn’t have worn enough layers that evening to keep the icy rain from chilling our skin and bones. Knowing that no one else would be outside caroling, we still hated to give up. We noticed there were people in the town square huddled inside the gazebo, and we joined them. For the next two hours, we all gathered around a fire pit and started singing. Even though we had the fire pit to keep us warm for those couple of hours, by the time we got back home, we were all so cold that we couldn’t stop shivering. Mom quickly turned up the thermostat and bustled into the kitchen to make hot chocolate for all of us . Dad, however, wanted to make sure that we got warm in the quickest way possible. He already had logs in the fireplace, to which he set fire to. Within a few brief minutes, the warm blaze from the fireplace had us all feeling warm and cozy. Between the fireplace and the hot chocolate, it didn’t take long for all of us to become drowsy and ready to go to bed. I was upset about needing to leave the warmth of the fireplace, and so did my sister. We tried to convince mom and dad to let us sleep on the couches. It didn’t work, but we got to sit up for just a few more minutes.
