I had done this for most of the things in my life, but life was catching up with me as I got older.
It has been worsening lately as I find myself fixing things at the last minute. I know how dangerous this can be but I can’t seem to help it. I had a rude shock last summer when it skipped my mind and I forgot to book for the annual HVACmaintenance service. My husband had reminded me three weeks earlier since he was not around to do it himself. I swear Ihad written it down but still forgot to do it. Since I wasn’t ready for anyone’s trouble, I decided to keep silent and get over the summer season then I would have the HVAC technician come in for the servicing. Unknown to me, this was the worst idea as everything came crumbling down. In the middle of summer, when we needed the AC most, it suddenly stopped. No one had bothered to change the filters since they all assumed that the HVAC company had been here recently. The problem started here as the unit was clogged and more serious issues were happening within. I could hide it anymore and had to come clean at what my failure had done. My husband was mad at me for a while but soon called the HVAC company for a solution. Unfortunately, being summer, they were in their busiest season. Apparently they had a lot of work lined up and would only be free in the next three days. The HVAC contractor told us that it is often very difficult for them to offer emergency services during this season. Lucky for us, he was around the neighborhood and someone canceled so he was free to check out our unit.In about 4 hours, he had it running again but I had to pay for it myself since it was all my fault.
