Living where I do in the southwest part of the united states of america really pays off in the winter months of the year. Sure, we go through hell and back from mid March through early November, but in between while the rest of the world is racking up high energy bills from cranking their central heating system all of the time, we do not have to worry about that. Because the temperatures are either plain cool to the point where central heating is only needed when you go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning. Or, sometimes we get lucky and the temperatures are perfect and no central heating is even needed! Those days are rare, but they do happen sometimes. So this is why in my humble opinion Winter is better in the southwest than anywhere else in the united states of america. Just for the fact of not having to use the central heating system too much. Of course we use central air conditioning to survive most of the year, but with the discount plans that energy companies offer at certain hours mixed with a good central heating and air conditioning system with top SEER rating, you can get away pretty decent in price considering. So I deal with the hell for most of the year just to never have to deal with snow and ice, as well as those ultra high heating bills that could eat up your bank account quicker than you could blink! For this I am grateful living in the southwest.
