Being an HVAC technician has its perks.
I love going to people’s houses and fixing their HVAC units for them, but some people are better to work for than others because they have a high respect and love for HVAC technicians.
One time, I went to an elerly lady’s house to fix her central air conditioner and air purifier. When I finished fixing her HVAC units, she sat me down and fed me a great home cooked meal while we talked. She loved HVAC technicians because her husband was an HVAC technician before he passed away. She gave me a large tip and asked me to stop by whenever I wanted a good meal. Other customers have been extremely kind to me and have gone out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. Customers who are frustrated with their furnace, air conditioner, or air purifier, are mean to me, but those who have respect for HVAC technicians are great whether they like their HVAC unit or not. At times I have had customers who have asked me to come fix their air conditioner or furnace for them, and when I got there, there was only a small problem with their HVAC unit and they just wanted to have someone to talk to that afternoon. Usually it is only the elderly that have one thing, but I am more than happy to not only fix people’s air conditioners and furnaces, but also to spend some quality time talking with them and building friendships with people that will last forever.
