I really didn’t know where I would end up after I finished college.
I earned a degree in advertising and digital marketing.
I was working part-time for a software and online hosting company. I didn’t see myself working there full time, and I was hopeful that someone else would offer me a job. I filled out lots of online applications and I sent my resume to several companies in the area. One of the first places to give me a call was a digital marketing company that specifically handles SEO and advertising for small business websites. It wasn’t going to be the most glamorous job, but the pay was decent with benefits and a retirement program. The job was close to my hometown as well, and I really wanted to head back home so I could be close to my mom and dad. They were thrilled when I told them that I got a job working at a marketing company. The job is really interesting, because I am constantly learning about new things. Every time I helped a new customer, I learned about that business. The last job I had was working for a heating and air conditioning system repair provider. The owner of the heating and air conditioner repair company didn’t even have a website when he called to make an appointment. The first thing we did was set him up with a shiny logo and a great website to match the new company logo. After that, we added keywords to the website and helpful information about HVAC related topics. Each day there is more and more unique traffic to the website for the business.
