My wife did something really smart as the beautiful winter was ending. We’re lucky to live in a region where the winter weather is some of the best of the year. There is very little need for HVAC heating here and we still tend to just revel in that fact. Where we moved from, that was simply not the case at all. In fact, we spent so much time inside the HVAC heating just to make it. There was no going for a stroll after dark up there. That’s when temperatures would plummet to well below freezing. Going for a walk was just dangerous on so many levels. So that’s why we loved it so much when we moved down here. There was freedom to get outside just about all winter because the weather is just so great. But my wife did a smart thing by pulling up all the bills from the previous summer. She really wanted us to focus on making big changes when it came to our demand on the heat pump is summer. For sure, we love the weather her from October through May. But June through September are super hot and humid. All we could do was poor on the HVAC cooling and that got super expensive. So last spring we committed to saving money on those costs. All I had to do was go to the HVAC company website and follow the step by step directions when it came prepping our house. It was really that simple and we also just had to accept the heat a bit. So the thermostat went up some and we just dealt with it.
