I am pretty angry with my son

I am really angry with my son.

My son loves to take things apart and try to put them back together, or fix things that are broken.

He gets them from me, as I am a engineer, and he has been watching me build things for a long time. I love the fact that he is interested in what I am doing, and also wants to get into building, and I encourage him to follow that passion. However, my son also has a rebellious streak with an ego that’s a notch too high. My son told me he wants to become a HVAC technician, which was fine by me. Unfortunately, his fascination with the heating and cooling component almost cost me a fortune to get it fixed. My son waited until I left for work, before disassembling about 60% of my HVAC component, and taking out all of the parts. My son has absolutely no HVAC training once so ever, and he only watched a few videos. Not only is that extremely dangerous for an untrained person to tackle, but he couldn’t even figure out how to put it back together! So all I came home to was a HVAC machine with pieces and parts scattered all about. Luckily for him, I know how to put a cooling unit back together without issue. But if I didn’t, that would have been a nice and expensive fee to reassemble the entire thing back together. I’m still pretty mad at my son, and to his credit, he’s a bit sheepish and I think his confidence took a hit, which he needed. Hopefully this will be a good lesson for him to not mess with dangerous stuff that he has absolutely no knowledge on.
