I get my furnace serviced when I get my air conditioner maintenance

Getting a repair warrant for a car was a huge benefit to my life.

This was after years of pouring thousands of dollars into keeping one used car after the next on the road.

All I had to do was find a quality pre-owned car with less than 30,000 miles on it and start negotiating over the price to include a repair warranty whenever something breaks down. These are often sold in lengths of time anywhere between a few years to 10. Other times the warranty cuts off as soon as you reach a new threshold in miles driven in the car. In my case, it will last for the next five years, covering everything from oil changes to engine fixes and tune-ups. This was an instructive experience for me and motivated me to get a maintenance contract on my heating and cooling system. I hate to admit that I ran an air conditioner into the ground when I was a first time homeowner. Not only did I fail to get seasonal tune-ups from an HVAC technician, but I also rarely changed out the filter inside. I took an air conditioner that could have lasted for over 20 years and reduced it’s lifetime down to just seven. This time around I am preventing that by having a maintenance contract for general repairs and service. It makes it easy to get both my furnace and my air conditioner serviced at the same time whenever my HVAC technician is visiting my house. I don’t have to worry about running this system into the ground again like I did last time.
