I live home to save money

For the past 4 years I have been living at home with my parents.

While it is normal for many guys to live with their parents even after school, I graduated from university nearly 4 years ago and I’m still here, however this is not due to the fact that I do not have a good career or cannot afford to live on my own.

Honestly, it is mostly due to the fact that I genuinely enjoyed living with my parents and I also enjoyed the opportunity to save money. In fact, I was upstairs working the other morning when I heard my mother on the phone with 1 of the Heating and A/C servicemen that he usually calls whenever there has been an issue with our heated gas furnaceā€¦ I heard her talking on the phone and asking about a problem that our furnace has with maintaining steady heating. From the conversation I could hear that the price for a modern gas furnace, which was what she most likely needed, was going to be approximately $2,000 to $3,000 at a minimum. This wasn’t including the manual labor costs and all of the other things that go into this installation process. The craziest part is that my mother wasn’t even fazed by this price, mostly because she is used to it being a home loan. However, to hear that from my perspective was shocking, as losing that much money on something like a Heating and A/C service would really be a hit to my bank account. I feel I might stick around for another year considering how high-priced it can be to live at home or to own a home. If my parents do not mind, then I do not see why I shouldn’t save some money while I can.
