I love this time of year.
And I also love that our heat pump is mostly silent while both of us were in the winter. That’s the sort of Wintertide both of us have here and I wouldn’t settle for anything less. Once I moved south to the land of the heat pump, there was no going back. You can keep all the snow shoveling and falling on the ice. I’ll stick to shorts and a hoodie for my winters. However, it’s not as though both of us just get off without some sort of balance. The people I was with and I both know the universe doesn’t toil that way. So both of us have to start bracing up come about May for the heat that’s coming. And by early July, the heat and humidity descend only to transfer away again at the end or November. And it can be a rough patch for sure. The people I was with and I do rely on A/C to get us through that period. And the heat pump more than delivers on that. I was made to do what it does. But there are plenty of people who go way overboard with the Heating and A/C cooling and it can get extravagant. The best way to not have that happen is be just a bit proactive. Get an A/C tune-up from the Heating and A/C professionals first. Then, spend a few hours tightening up the house. Start with the weather stripping and then seal any other crack or gap you can find. Pull the shades to stop direct sunshine heating. And then just be rational about the control machine setting. It’s actually all it takes and the summer time doesn’t have to cost so much just for A/C.
