It’s a big mess both ways

I live the snowbird life with our wife.

It is nice consistently enjoying the best weather possible.

However, it means that we are consistently leaving the apartment when I just get it back in order. When you don’t live in the same space for more than 2 or 3 weeks too, it starts to deteriorate. I have needed to fix and finish making seams, broken pipes and done major lawn care when I have returned. My most recent trips back and forth have been rough. I had to leave our southern apartment the day that the Heating and Air Conditioning unit quit on me. I couldn’t get the AC to turn on at all. I also couldn’t get a Heating and Air Conditioning pro in our apartment in under a day; So I just left it and figured I would deal with it on the next trip. I arrived at a northern apartment that didn’t handle the cold truly well. My northern apartment had so more than 2 finished making seams to handle. I actually had to rip down the drywall and start totally fresh. That meant sanding and mudding, and then painting once more. It was so much work. By the time I was all done, it was the Winter and time to go back south. Arriving at our southern apartment and not having any heating was horrible. I spent over a week cold in our little house. A space oil furnace wasn’t actually a replacement for the real thing. I had to pay extra since it was peak heating repair time for the Heating and Air Conditioning pro too. It was the only time I could get him to arrive though. So there are some downsides to the snowbird life.
