I’m rarely ever super excited to write a big check for anything.
Sure, I get excited about getting new stuff but I hate paying for it for sure.
So I do my best to make sure that I get every bit of value from the dollar I spend. It that’s investing great residential HVAC or buying a car, I want to get value. So I do my research, talk to the experts and people like me who actually own the thing I’m looking to buy. Of course, I’m not doing this when I change peanut butter brands but when I’m spending some coin. I just when I spend money on something that turns out to be just cheap. But there is another side of value for what you spend your money on. And that’s the value of maintaining your stuff. That goes for cars as well as any other big time purchase. I look after my home because it’s probably our biggest investment. And when it come to the car, it gets the scheduled maintenance it needs. That goes for the HVAC equipment as well. The HVAC technician come out in the fall for the HVAC heating maintenance and again in the spring for the air conditioning tune up. So if there is ever a problem, why would I ever take a chance with anyone but an HVAC professional? I wouldn’t and that’s just part of maintaining the value of the big investments in our household. And I’m lucky as all the HVAC maintenance has allowed me to enjoy more than 15 years of incident free heating and cooling.
