Made working from home in my HVAC permanent

It really wasn’t too tough a decision to continue working remotely once the office opened again.

That was utterly shocking to me, my boss and my colleagues.

I had been the one howling the loudest when the company decided to send us home from the zone controlled HVAC of the office. Going home to work remotely was so not what I wanted to do. I begged to be able to stay but that wasn’t happening. So home I went to be cooped up inside the central air conditioning of my home with my family. This is the main reason I didn’t want to work from home. I love my family for sure but trying to do my work with all of them interrupting was going to be tough. And it was. That first summer was not comfortable and I longed for the zone controlled HVAC of the office. We keep our thermostat higher during the peak heating hours of the day. Otherwise, we pay so much in HVAC cooling costs because our home is pretty big. My husband and I tried sharing the home office but he’s on the phone so much for his job, I couldn’t concentrate. That’s when I got the idea of making a self contained office space in the backyard. I had a nice storage shed with windows delivered from the home improvement store. The electrician wired it and the HVAC professionals put in a ductless heat pump. Not only did I love it for the pandemic, it’s my permanent office these days since I didn’t go back to the office once it reopened.
