Moving out of the heat, into heat pump territory

I can’t say that I have always made the best decisions in life.

But who has? Honestly, I’ve done the best with what I had in every situation so far.

Unfortunately, sometimes the situations have not been the best. For instance, ending up in the Deep South after a terrible relationship ended was not really my idea of a good time.I didn’t know anybody else and I didn’t know where else I should move. So, I settled a little further into the hot and humid, Dirty South. Unfortunately, I did not have a great time there… And a lot of it was because of the inherent climate. I was not prepared for the semi-tropical weather that they had every day. It was so hot and humid that I could not even afford to operate my air conditioning system at a level that made any difference in my indoor air temperature. If I turned on my air conditioning system to an affordable temperature control setting, the entire house was still so hot, humid, and unevenly tempered that it was worse than living without air conditioning. I tried to install box fans, ceiling fans, and even homemade air conditioning devices. However, nothing seemed to make a difference with my daily comfort level living in such a difficult climate. That’s why I eventually decided I was going to undo the damage of my decisions by moving to a cooler place. Instead of working on my AC every day, I was going to use a heat pump for free indoor air temperature control. I was going to take back my life, starting with my energy bill.
