Realizing a boiler is a great heating system

There are separate thermostats in each room that accommodate zone control

About three years ago, my husband and I purchased a new home. We had spent eight months touring different houses and were relieved to finally find a place with plenty of property, privacy and square footage. We were thrilled with the two-car garage, large kitchen, open floor plan and lots of closets. We knew our kids would benefit from the finished basement, big yard and spacious bedrooms. Plus, we’re now located in a very good school district and a safe neighborhood. The only thing that we had concerns about was the boiler heating system. In our local area, the heating system is probably the most important appliance. We deal with temperatures down to twenty below zero and rely on the heater for nearly eight months out of the year. We were doubtful that a boiler could handle demand. We expected the system to be noisy, dirty and require a ton of maintenance. We couldn’t have been more wrong. The hydronic heating system is one of the best features of our new house. The boiler is compact, located in the basement and makes virtually no noise at all. It provides a very even, gentle style of heating that doesn’t dry out the air. Because it is a closed system, using the same water to convey heat energy, it doesn’t introduce air contaminants. The boiler is actually a much cleaner style of heater than a furnace. It only requires annual upkeep and can be expected to outlast other types of heaters. Our boiler is linked to baseboard heaters throughout the home. There are separate thermostats in each room that accommodate zone control. Being able to customize temperature in each room is super convenient. No matter how severe the outdoor weather, our home is always perfectly warm and cozy.
