The air cleaner wasn’t working at all.

I knew there was a problem with the air cleaner when I walked into the house two days after having salmon for dinner the aroma was still lingering.

  • It wasn’t really as strong as the day I made the salmon, however it was still noticeable.

Even my fiance commented the air cleaner wasn’t doing its task. I simply asked if he had changed the HEPA air filter lately. He then admitted it had been about six weeks, however that shouldn’t make that much difference. He changed the HEPA air filter, and then he called the heating and air conditioning supplier. He was sure my associate and I had a problem with the whole-dwelling air cleaner. Two days later, the heating and air conditioning company arrived. Even though the real HEPA air filter had been changed, the aroma of salmon was still present in the air. It wasn’t as strong as it was originally, however it was still there. He turned the air cleaner off and checked to see if all the components were running well. The UV light was intact and working well. The HEPA air filter was clean, although he knew there was something wrong. He just could not pinpoint what the problem was. He laughed and told us there was more than one air filter in the air cleaner. He checked the preliminary air filter, and it was plugged. The air wasn’t penetrating the primary air filter, so it wasn’t getting to the HEPA air filter, which did the final filtering step. Once he finally changed the primary air filter and made sure the fan system was working, he told us it should be fine for another year. He reminded my fiance there were two air filters in the system.
