The dos and don’ts of an efficient cooling system

Most homeowners should be aware of the things they should do and what they should not do in order to maintain and increase the efficiency of the HVAC unit.

  • One of the things that homeowners should stay away from is placing the climate control in direct sunlight as this messes up the sensors.

The thermostat senses heat and is able to communicate with the cooling system so when it is kept in direct sunlight, it would be damaged. Another don’t, would be to leave the multi-split air conditioning set on high when you are not in the house, as this not only adds to the high energy bill but also can cause a strain or wear on some of the cooling products on the unit as well as the indoor air cleaning system. On the opposite extreme, one of the dos would be to cover the air conditioning system when not in use in order to protect it from the debris. In order not to place a strain on the unit, it would be efficient to have an indoor air cleaning system that improves the air quality. However, in order for this to be possible, you have to clean the a/c filter at least every three months. A very important do, that one of my customers learned the hard way was to ensure that the a/c install is done properly. We always advise customers to have an a/c professional perform an a/c care plan at least once every year. This would make sure that the unit runs more efficiently. We recommend the air conditioning provider from the local business to all our customers as we are sure that they would get legitimate latest cooling technology.
