The HVAC units at the movie theater were horrible. I was so excited to get the day off of working on HVAC units and finally get to see a movie I had been waiting to see for months. As an HVAC technician, I hardly get days off because everyone needs either their air conditioner, furnace, or air purifier fixed at some point and I am always busy fixing them. I had planned ahead and marked this day as off since I knew this movie would be released today. I went to the movie theater with some friends and sat in the front row. At first all was well and great, but it started to get a little bit hot. One of my friends complained to an employee and they warned that the central air container had been making strange noises and they were afraid it might disrupt the movie, but it was so hot that they’d decided to try out the air conditioner. I, being an experienced HVAC technician, heard the central air conditioner turn on, and noticed right off the bat that it was not working correctly. The air conditioner was making strange loud noises that disrupted the movie. I got so frustrated that I went to the owner of the theater and offered to look at the air conditioner. He took me to the back of the theater where the air conditioner was and gave me a few basic tools to help me. I looked over the HVAC unit and quickly found the problem. Working as quickly as I could, I fixed the air conditioner, and in turn they gave me free tickets to their theater for the rest of the year.
