Every Thursday at the local bar here in town they have a glad hour.
I think that is a bit unstandard as those kind of things are usually during the work week; But they do it on Thursday here.
And it has been a official local trend for years. Well, this past Thursday for the first time in as long as i’ve been alive that didn’t happen because the bar was forced to close down for the morning. The reason behind this was because their central heating & a/c method had broke down.This bar is not a entirely big operation, so they could not afford to shove out the kind of currency it would have required to have the local heating & cooling contractor send someone out on a weekend for an emergency Heating & Air Conditioning service call. This was a big let down to a lot of the locals, including me, however all of us totally understood. The next morning on Thursday they had the local heating & a/c contractor out there to service the central heat & a/c unit. And this past Thursday everything was back up & running as per normal with glad hour. As a matter of fact, then ended up giving pretty much everyone who came in one free drink on the house because of the central heating & a/c method cut down that caused them to close the previous Thursday. I thought that was entirely awesome of them to do that, because they did not have to. I hope that they never have to close again for something like that!
