There’s something certainly endearing about a fire in the gas furnace

When our partner and I moved into our first house, there were certain things that the people I was with and I considered non-negotiable, but both of us knew we’d want a apartment that had two powder rooms, as the people I was with and I spent long enough sharing the same small powder room.

Both of us also knew that the apartment had to be recently renovated with a new system – preferably one that was centralized, most crucial of all our demands, but, was our need for a respected fireplace, then while our region stays fairly temperate throughout the year, this need the people I was with and I expressed for a fireplace was mostly due to us just needing one for heat.

Both of us didn’t love the system of relying on our central oil furnace, as the apartment was equipped with an electric gas furnace for heat, but the problem with this oil furnace was that it used a ton of electricity to function – about 6 times what our system used per hour! So, a fireplace was number one. It required no electricity to function, and it made a big difference as far as making the apartment assume comfortable when it was cold outside. Besides, the fireplace gave an aesthetic appeal that no other apartment had! Especially since this apartment the people I was with and I were looking at had this immense fancy fireplace mantle. Both of us could imagine stockings hanging from the mantle, as the people I was with and I sat in front of a sizzling fire in the fireplace during the holidays. That image alone was enough to convince us to buy the house, and we’ve been romantic this place ever since!
