Troubles with putting in a window A/C push me to buy a portable A/C instead

After consistently being unsuccessful at safely seating the window air conditioning, I returned it to the hardware store I found it at and upgraded it with a portable air conditioning on wheels

After successfully assembling a few hundred dollars worth of IKEA furniture a few months ago, I have been taking my current DIY endeavors a bit past my actual skill levels. I decided I wanted to install an overhead light in my study room. But, I have little experience with electricity and wiring and I was so naive that I didn’t even recognize to turn off the circuit breaker before touching the wire ends and shocking myself. At least I figured it out after enough trial and error and before long had the light fixture I had wanted from the start. But my problems with my air conditioning have diagnosed my patience in a way I never thought possible. I have an old window air conditioning for my one study room current home that had been working well until recently, whereas now it cycles for considerably longer periods of time and it’s starting to absolutely accumulate a noticeable odor as well. I bought a window air conditioning in a absolutely similar style and with similar performance ratings, even though I struggled for mornings trying to correctly seat it in my window so it wouldn’t fall out many stories and smash on the ground below. After consistently being unsuccessful at safely seating the window air conditioning, I returned it to the hardware store I found it at and upgraded it with a portable air conditioning on wheels. Although the exhaust hose needs to be seated in a window as well, the process was much easier given the big difference in weight at window level. It only took me a few hours to get every last bit of the installation complete and having the crisp, cool air blasting from the unit throughout my whole current home yet again..
