Troubles with putting in window a/c

After successfully assembling a few hundred dollars worth of IKEA furniture a few weeks ago, I have been taking my up-to-date DIY endeavors a bit past my actual skill levels.

I decided I wanted to install an overhead light in my bedroom.

But, I have little experience with electricity and wiring and I was so naive that I didn’t even recognize to turn off the circuit breaker before touching the wire ends and shocking myself. At least I figured it out after enough trial and error and before long had the light fixture I had wanted from the beginning. But my problems with my air conditioner have took care of my patience in a way I never thought possible. I have an old window air conditioner for my a single bedroom apartment that had been toiling well until recently, whereas now it cycles for considerably longer periods of time and it’s starting to easily accumulate a noticeable odor as well. I purchased a window air conditioner in a easily similar style and with similar performance ratings, although I struggled for days trying to officially seat it in my window so it wouldn’t fall out many stories and smash on the ground below. After constantly being unsuccessful at safely seating the window air conditioner, I returned it to the hardware store I found it at and replaced it with a portable air conditioner on wheels. Although the exhaust hose needs to be seated in a window as well, the process was much easier given the pressing difference in weight at window level. It only took myself and others a few hours to get every last bit of the installation complete and having the crisp, cool air blasting from the machine throughout my whole apartment yet again..
