Upgraded the guest room with ductless heat pump to work from home

I’m just glad to have made the decision and I think I made the right one.

But it was really tough to not go back to working in the office when it reopened.

Of course, like so many other offices around the country, ours worked remotely during the pandemic. I missed working from the office and seeing my colleagues each day. And that first summer of the pandemic, I really missed the zone controlled HVAC of the office. Working from home inside the central air conditioning was so much more warm than the office. Of course, we keep our thermostat set much higher during the peak heating hours of the day in order to save on HVAC cooling costs. And it went double for the summer of 2020 because my husband and I had to take pay cuts as well. So the HVAC cooling costs were a big target when it came to slashing our spending. But soon, I was able to really get into the rhythm of working from home as well as enjoying more freedom with my schedule. My work reflected the change as I was killing it. That made it really easy for my boss to get me the incentives others had gotten to work remotely. I took that bonus money and called the HVAC company. I had already cleared out the guest room for my new, permanent office. Now, I was getting a ductless heat pump so I had even better heating and cooling than I did in the office. I’m loving working remotely these days. But having the ductless heat pump installed was just the best decision.
