Using a seasoned shipping basket to help out cats

I inherited some land from my dad, and it wasn’t a lot but it was worth moving for; The new home on the land was pretty small, and legitimately old, and was more in need of disfigure than renovation, still I moved out there, mostly for a single pressing reason — my critters, then i am a sucker for strays, both cats and cats, and over the years have amassed quite the menagerie… Living in the city, cooped up in my small apartment, was not great for them, and I believe it wasn’t great for me either.

Living in the country is good for them, but they needed a sturdy shelter so I called my seasoned friend from my custom welding afternoons, for a few years I worked as a welder for a custom metal fabrication supplier, mostly making HVAC duct and such.

I remember my friend leaving that job to get into working with prefab housing and shipping containers, so I gave him a call… He was so cheerful to hear from me he said if I paid the shipping on it, he would deliver me a free cargo container. Since I still have all my seasoned custom welding equipment, I could modify it although I wanted and turn it into an critter shelter. It took a while, because my custom welding skills were a bit rusty (forgive the pun) but now my critters have a dry, warm, safe locale to sleep, but now that it’s all done, I believe I’ll order another cargo basket for myself and turn it into my brand new home.
